Rosa Parks on Apple.com

I thought that it was cool that Apple had a picture of Rosa Parks on the front page of their website. Rosa Parks passed away yesterday at the age of 92. Parks’ refusal to give up her seat to a white man on a Montgomery, Alabama bus back in 1955 was a grass-roots event that sparked the civil rights movement. Parks was arrested and fined for violating segregation laws. In response, blacks boycotted Montgomery city buses for over a year, and the Supreme Court ultimately outlawed segregation on buses. The popular photo on the Apple home page shows Parks riding a Montgomery bus in 1956 after the Supreme Court ruling.

Oh my today is my birthday and I do feel a bit older. Actually I have some kind of bug or something coz I haven't been feeling all that well last couple of days. Anyway, it was a great day all in all. On the way walking to work this morning I made up a little song about how I wish there was just a little bit of sunshine. It has been gray and raining all week… so this little song popped into my head and I was singing it out loud on the way to work. Can't remember it all but the idea was that I wish there was jut a little bit of sunshine. Wouldn't you know around 10 AM a little bit of sunshine came out for a few minutes then went back in again. It was cool, I'm convinced that God heard my little song and was saying happy birthday to me :-) Anyway, there was a huge cake for me at work and a cool card, a bunch more e-cards from my friends far away and songs on my answering machine from my Family in Florida. I spent the evening having dinner with my friend Rox at this new restaurant in Town and came home and snuggled up to my favorite movie (LOTR). Hey not a bad birthday at all.
