Apple’s Ode to Hackers

Knowing that Mac OS X would be running on Intel chips, the Apple developers embedded a warning in Mac OS X for would be hackers who would try to run pirated versions of the OS on non-Apple computers. The warning comes in the form of a poem and reads “Your karma check for today: There once was a user that whined/his existing OS was so blind/he’d do better to pirate/an OS that ran great/but found his hardware declined./Please don’t steal Mac OS!/Really, that’s way uncool./(C) Apple Computer, Inc.” Apple also put in a separate hidden message, “Don’t Steal Mac OS X.kext,” in another spot for would-be hackers. I think that this is a nice way to remind people not to steal. If you want OS X just go get a Mac, you can get one now for as little as $499. Its worth every penny so how about it add a little Mac to your computer collection and spend your time on something more productive.
