Birthday Pix
It was my birthday a few weeks back and a few of my friends and myself had been discussing the fact that we live in the fingerlakes region, famous for its wineries and none of us had been on a wine tour. Anyway, for my birthday (actually a few days afterwards) we decided to set out on our little wine tour adventure. The day turned out to be perfectly Sunny and quite nice although it had been rainy and grey earlier. We stopped at a few wineries on Cayuga Lake but decided that we would visit Lamoreaux Landing on Seneca lake after we had tasted a few not so great ones on Cayuga lake. We liked couldn’t find a selection at Lamoreaux Landing that we didn’t like but we all agreed (except for our more responsible friend Mary) that the Vidal Ice Wine was quite lovely. They say that its a dessert wine we say its simply dessert in a bottle. Good thing the price was a bit on the expensive side to keep us from buying too much of this stuff. We also drove around and took in a bit of the country atmosphere, lake views and visited a squash farm where we bought more than a few butternut squashes. Fun was had by all and it was one of the most memorable birthdays that I’ve had in a while.

Hi Catt,
Wished I was there with you. Though I have left Cornell many years ago its crisp air, its gorgeous gorges and the surrounding lakes still haunt me. Never did the wine tour though….Good excuse to come and see you.
